Courses

In this one-day course, the participants learn how to use MORe for mechanical simulation of machine tools. They learn how to efficiently model a machine tool by means of a step-by-step tutorial.

Agenda

  1. Export of ANSYS models and best-practise for the use with MORe
  2. Step-by-step creation of a machine tool model
  3. Modal analysis of the structural system
  4. Setting up axis controllers
  5. Static evaluation of the controlled system

Goal

After the course, the participants are able to autonomously
  • create a structural model
  • create a mechatronic model
  • use state-of-the-art methods for analysis

In this one-day course, the participants learn how to set up a thermo-mechanical model of a machine tool in MORe. Furthermore, various thermal and thermo-mechanical analyses are performed.

Agenda

  1. Theoretical back ground on thermo-mechanical models
  2. Step-by-step creation of a thermo-mechanical machine tool model
  3. Steady-state and transient analysis of the thermal system
  4. Thermo-mechanical evaluation of the system

Goal

After the course, the partcipants are able to autonomously

  • create a thermo-mechanical model
  • analyze the thermo-mechanical behavior of the model
  • use state-of-the-art methods for analysis

In this one-day course, the participants learn how to optimally set up controllers for machine tools. They learn how to achieve stable and optimally damped controllers while considering real-world conditions.

Agenda

  1. Theoretical background on optimal damping and stability of controllers
  2. Step-by-step parameterisation of the controller in MORe
  3. Considering real conditions with filters
  4. FRF analysis of the controlled system
  5. Transient evaluation of the controlled system

Goal

After the course, the participants are able to autonomously
  • set up optimally damped cascaded controllers
  • set up stable controllers
  • check controller performance via state-of-the-art analyses

In this one-day course, the participants learn how to independently solve real-world simulation tasks for machine tools in MORe. We work on up to two case studies from the approach to the evaluation.

Possible topics

  1. Contour error (e.g. roundcross)
  2. Geometric errors (e.g. ISO230)
  3. Controller performance

Goal

After the course, the partcipants are able to autonomously

  • develop simulation approach for real-world case study
  • evaluate relevant criteria in MORe
  • use MORe to solve individual simulation tasks
